GROOVIN IN THA PARK 2017 REVIEW

I must say I ENJOYED myself at this year staging of GROOVIN IN THA PARK on SUNDAY JUNE 25 ,2017 .presented each year by CHRIS the OWNER of THE DOOR RESTAURANT and HIS PROMOTIONAL TEAM . I must say the GROOVIN TEAM goes all out each YEAR to make sure the PATRONS and ENTERTAINERS are well COMFORTABLE .from PROVIDING CABANAS at a resonable  PRICE for the VIP and VVIP PATRONS to the FREE FOOD SECTION for the V.I.P PATRONS to making sure all the ENTERTAINERS have FOOD,DRINKS and COMFORTABLE BUS TRAILERS . AIR CONDITIONED BATHROOMS BACKSTAGE with all the ACOMODATIONS was very IMPRESSIVE .

this YEAR ENTERTAINERS on the line up was KEN BOOTHE,LEROY SIBBLES,FREDDIE MCGREGOR,LLOYD PARKS AND HIS BAND ,BUSY SIGNAL AND R KELLY ,LIVE ORCHESTRA AND MUCH MORE .

Every thing went SMOOTHLY however until BUSY SIGNAL came on STAGE ,this was BUSY SIGNAL FIRST PERFORMANCE in the UNITED STATES as he was recently REISSUED a U.S WORK PERMIT after being BANNED from the STATES .BUSY SIGNAL PERFORMED only for about 20 MINUTES .it was after 7PM when BUSY SIGNAL came on STAGE to PERFORM ,he was PERFORMING GREAT with the CROWD CHEERING and SINGING with HIM when all of a SUDDEN the MUSIC STOPPED and HE was told to EXIT the STAGE as time was GOING and R AND B SINGER R KELLY was set to PERFORM .BUSY SIGNAL STOPPED SINGING and ADDRESSED the CROWD by STATING that He Was in the PARK from 3pm as he was SLATED to PERFORM at 5PM ,AND now THEY telling HIM to COME OFF STAGE after THEY put HIM to PERFORM LATE.BUSY SIGNAL was very UPSET as this was his FIRST  PERFORMANCE in the STATES .BUSY SIGNAL then TURNED and WALKED OFF THE STAGE ,the CROWD then STARTED to BOO as RAS CLEM came on STAGE to JUSTIFY the ARTIST PERFORMANCE TIME MISHAP .I FEEL that GROOVIN PROMOTERS NEED TO START THE SHOW BY 12 NOON INSTEAD OF 3PM SO THAT WAY ALL THE ARTISTS CAN PERFORM ON TIME .

TAURUS RILEY was the OPENING PERFORMER for GROOVIN which I THINK is CRAZY because TAURUS RILEY is a BIG REGGAE ARTIST .THEY should HAVE added UPCOMING ARTISTES to PERFORM as OPENING ACTS,Then GOSPEL ARTISTES and then the BIG NAME ENTERTAINERS .

R AND B ENTERTAINER R KELLY was the CLOSING PERFORMER with HIS BAND ,he PERFORMED ALL his MAJOR HIT SONGS and had the CROWD DANCING and SINGING along with HIM .OVER ALL GROOVIN 2017 was a GREAT EVENT I Hope for NEXT YEAR the PROMOTERS start the EVENT EARLY .

Sunday June 11,2017 was an epic day at ROY WILKINS PARK here in QUEENS ,NEW YORK as FARM UP JAMAICA kept IT'S FIRST CARIBBEAN FARMERS MARKET .it was day event titled JERK ,ROOTS AND YAM FESTIVAL ,where patrons got the chance to PURCHASE FOOD PRODUCTS that are GROWN mainly in the island of JAMAICA . it was a FAMILY FUN DAY EVENT as well PATRONS was able to enjoy CARIBBEAN COOKED FOOD from the VARIOUS FOOD VENDORS in the park to enjoy JERK CHICKEN,ROAST CORN,ROAST YAM,SALTFISH,JERK PORK,and many more COOKED FOOD PRODUCTS .
Along with the FARMERS MARKET AND THE VARIOUS FOOD RESTAURANTS was the ENTERTAINMENT STAGE ,where PATRONS get to enjoy PERFORMANCES from VARIOUS ARTISTES such as LT STICHIE,GLEN WASHINGTON, KYMANI MARLEY,SISTER KAROL, THRILLER U and JAMAICAN FOLKLURE GROUP BRAATA FAMILY ,the HOST was MUTABARUKA .
