IT was a very nice SUNNY day on SUNDAY JULY 17TH, as i ENTERED ROY WILKINS PARK here in QUEENS NEW YORK ,for the YEARLY STAGE SHOW of GRACE JAMAICA JERK FESTIVAL 2016. this YEAR i ARRIVED EARLY to AVOID the LONG LINES so i could be able to TAKE in MORE of the VARIOUS ACTIVITIES that was going on .i ARRIVED around 1:30 pm .ENTRANCE to the PARK went SMOOTHLY they HAD a SEPARATE LINE for TICKET HOLDERS .and the OPPOSITE SIDE for those BUYING TICKETS .
Upon ENTERING the PARK i could SEE that MANY PEOPLE was THINKING the SAME WAY As i was to come out EARLY . there were so MANY PEOPLE GATHERED at the VARIOUS FOOD VENDORS to buy JERK CHICKEN and JERK PORK and JERK FISH and all the OTHER FOOD ITEMS .i BOUGHT my FOOD Early from YARDIES RESTAURANT ,i BOUGHT JERK CHICKEN and JERK PORK . it was a good thing i BOUGHT my FOOD EARLY cause i WENT BACK towards the END of the STAGE SHOW to PURCHASE some MORE JERK PORK from YARDIES but THEY RAN OUT of JERK PORK and the JERK CHICKEN was in such HIGH demand that it was not READY as yet .so i BOUGHT JERK FISH instead . YARDIE FOOD was VERY DELICIOUS . As i MADE my way to the MEDIA CHECK IN BOOTH which was LOCATED next to the MAIN STAGE ,I saw the GATHERING of MANY PEOPLE with THERE CHAIRS SITTING and WAITING for the MAIN STAGE to START.
JERK FESTIVAL has YEARLY ACTIVITIES such as KIDS ZONE in which KIDS under 12 YEARS can ENJOY a MIXTURE of RIDES ,GAMES and TREATS . MARKET PLACE where you can buy SOUVENIRS such as ARTS N CRAFTS, T-SHIRTS , MUSIC and MUCH MORE . COOPERATE ROW which includes the SPONCERS such as GRACE FOODS, WESTERN UNION, VP RECORDS ,NATIONAL BAKERY,DIGICEL and MUCH MORE that GAVE AWAY RAFFLE PRIZES and GIFT BAGS .WESTERN UNION CULTURAL STAGE which was OPEN Before the MAIN STAGE HAD SINGERS and DANCERS ENTERTAINING the PEOPLE with VARIOUS CULTURAL ACTIVITIES. this YEAR COOK OFF was HOSTED by FOOD NETWORK CHOPPED WINNER CHEF ANDRE FOWLES where HE FEATURED COOKING CONTEST and LIVE COOKING DEMONSTRATIONS at the CULINARY PAVILLION. VP RECORDS had a MUSICAL EXHIBITION TITLE A REGGAE JOURNEY in which you can SEE the HISTORY of REGGAE with ARTWORK FROM Way BACK WHEN TO NOW the PRESENT TIME .
THIS YEAR LINE UP Of ENTERTAINERS for the MAIN STAGE were BRITISH ARTIST MARK ANTHONY ABEL , IKAYA, RUPEE, DEXTA DAPS GYPTIAN and THIRD WORLD . MARK ANTHONY ABEL was the OPENING PERFORMER this year .it was my FIRST time and also the FIRST TIME for EVERYONE at JERK FEST to HEAR AND SEE him PERFORM .his PERFORMANCE was GREAT .MARK ANTHONY Music HAS a MESSAGE of UNITY and PEACE for all PEOPLE no matter The RACE or CULTURAL BACKGROUND .i was very HAPPY to have GOTTEN the CHANCE to MEET and GREET and CHAT with Such a TALENTED ARTISTE. NEXT ARTIST to PERFORM was IKAYA .she SANG such SONGS such as HARDWAY to her NEW SONG such as UGLY GIRL . NEXT to PERFORM was SOCA SUPERSTAR RUPEE THEN DEXTA DAPS. Let me tell YOU mr DAPS came on STAGE with a BURST of ENERGY and THE LADIES was CHEERING him on as He SANG .at one POINT he took OFF his SHIRT and that had his FANS SCREAMING for MORE .NEXT to PERFORM was GYPTIAN that SANG a Few of HIS HIT SONGS such as MAMA DONT CRY and MUCH MORE .BEFORE GYPTIAN LEFT the STAGE he CALLED up on STAGE TWO SURPRISE GUEST ARTISTES KHAGO and KRANIUM .CLOSING out JERK FEST was the PERFORMANCE by THIRD WORLD . PLATIMUN KIDS had the CROWD DANCING and SINGING during the INTERMISSIONS .
MISS JAMAICA WORLD 2016 ATTENDED JERK FEST this YEAR and ALSO from ENGLAND SOUNDCLASH FRATURNITY REPORTER GIBBO PRESENTS ATTENDED JERK FEST on HIS FIRST TRIP to THE STATES . All the ENTERTAINERS DID a FANASTIC JOB. i ENJOYED myself at ANOTHER YEAR of JERK FEST .it WAS a VERY PEACEFUL EVENT .please ENJOY the FOLLOWING PICTURES and VIDEO CLIPPINGS .SEE YOU NEXT YEAR at GRACE JERK FESTIVAL .
