Last week in california federal court the lawsuit between nicki minaj and Tracy chapman became public record due to the settlement between the 2 entertainers .nicki minaj agreed to pay $450k to tracy chapman for using lyrics from chapman song baby can i hold you aka sorry .tracy chapman accepted the offer to settle out of court for $450k payment from nicki minaj .the case will not go to trial .
Tracy chapman filed a copyright lawsuit against nicki minaj in october 2018 after nicki minaj released her album titled queen . popular dj funk master flex leaked a song from nicki minaj which contained lyrics from chapman song sorry which went viral on social media ,however nicki minaj did not add the song on her queen album .
Tracy chapman filed the law suit because she tracy chapman is on the do not sample list which mean tracy chapman does not want anyone using her songs or song lyrics without the proper authorization .the case between the entertainers have been settled good luck to both entertainers .
