reggae veteran entertainer MAX ROMEO has filed a $15 million u.s law suit with his lawyers schwartz and ponterio llc against universal music for unpaid royalties for over 50 years . according to the 78 year old reggae entertainer he has not gotten paid for royalties on 19 songs which includes war Ina Babylon - one step forward and his biggest hit song chase the devil . Chase the devil was sampled by hiphop entertainers Kanye west and jay z song was also featured in grand theft auto gaming franchise .the lawsuit also includes a 10 track reconstruction album from 1977 . The reggae veteran states he has not gotten not a penny for these and many more songs . His lawyers filed the breach of contract lawsuit in New York City December 15,2022 it was amended recently on September 29 , 2023 in a new filing after it was partially dismissed . The lawsuit filed is against umg recordings and poly gram publishing . The entertainer recently went on tour with various entertainers and his son whom is also an entertainer .good luck to max romeo and his lawyers on his lawsuit .
